"Oncology is only the tip of the iceberg!"

This is what the head of the Supreme State Audit, Arben Shehu, stated during his report to the Economy Commission.

In an audit of the HSC, for which a report was made, carried out to the Compulsory Health Care Insurance Fund, it was found that in the years 2021-2022, family doctors issued prescriptions with reimbursement medicines for 60 citizens ( 24 cases in 2021 and 36 cases in 2022) who had passed away, with a total value of ALL 372,361.

"The situation in Oncology is the final point of responsibility. We also have cases where treatments have been done for citizens who are no longer alive", said Shehu.

During the presentation of the HSC report for 2023, Arben Shehu said that the auditors found 72.3 billion ALL in economic damage due to mismanagement of public funds and legal violations committed by the state and local administration./ CNA
