Elections in Tirana suspended/ CEC deducts 2 million euros from initial fund

The suspension of the elections in the Municipality of Tirana has also led to a reduction in the fund of 306 million lek initially determined by the CEC for the November 9 process.

2 million euros will be deducted from the designated fund and 1.6 million euros will be spent by the CEC.

The money will be divided according to the following items:

288 thousand euros for goods, of which 85 thousand euros go to the production of ballots.

370 thousand euros for the establishment of an electronic system for counting and broadcasting election results, including video footage.

230 thousand euros will go to pay commissioners and counters. 100 thousand euros will go to KAS members who are engaged in these elections.

After the Constitutional Court overturned President Begaj's decree for Tirana, 5 municipalities will go to the polls on November 9: Cerriku, Mati, Vlora, Berat and Tepelena./ CNA
