Murder of Martin Çeço/ Court releases 3 suspected perpetrators

The Court of Appeal in Tirana has changed the security measure from "prison arrest" to "house arrest" for the three suspected perpetrators of the murder of Martin Çeço.

Sources confirm that the three suspected perpetrators, Valter Mollaj, his cousin Edlir Mollaj, and shepherd Bleti Angjo, have been released by the Court of Appeal after the latter found that the detention order issued on 20.06.2022 had lost its force, due to exceeding the maximum stay period.

Murder investigations continue for the 3 people.

Regarding the incident, we recall that 26-year-old Martin Çeço was killed and then thrown into the reservoir in the village of Kolanec, Maliq, in June 2022. The three were arrested after the testimony of Tina Pajollari, who remains in prison in connection with the incident. The latter was later arrested after allegedly being present at the time of the murder.
