Corruption in the Municipality of Tirana has reached a prestigious Croatian media. PD MP, Klevis Balliu, in an interview for "Ve?ernji list", spoke about the involvement of the mayor Erion Veliaj in corrupt affairs.
Balliu has declared for the prestigious Croatian that Veliaj has been caught in a big corrupt scandal and for this he has been protesting for 4 months and that the opposition will not stop until his resignation.
"I am responsible for organizing protests and coordinating gatherings and informing the Albanian people of this district about the corruption of the government of Edi Rama and the municipalities of Tirana and Durrës. Of course, I also inform them of the solutions offered by the Democratic Party through our program, which is prepared by our departments. In a big corruption scandal, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was caught today, for which we have been protesting for four months, and we will not stop until he resigns", said Balliu.
The MP goes on to say that priority should be given to the environment as it has suffered a major blow due to the actions of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who in collaboration with national and international crime like the Ndrangheta, used Tirana as a money laundering machine for drug trade in construction.
"A big difficulty is the stability of the economy. The value and number of taxes should be reduced and the corruption that was taken from millions of the capital city should be fought. Priority should be given to the environment because it suffered a big blow due to the actions of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who, in cooperation with national and international crime like the Ndrangheta, used Tirana as a money laundering machine for the drug trade in construction. Within a few years, nine million square meters were built in Tirana. As for Durrës, the Democratic Party will support sustainable tourism", he said.
Among other things, deputy Klevis Balliu has declared that the policy of zero tolerance will be the policy of the DP.
"The current government has incredible data on corruption. Many MPs and government ministers have been indicted and are serving sentences, but the corrupt projects they were accused of continue. The main example is the 500 million incinerator, the sterilization project and many others. The policy of zero tolerance will be the policy of the Democratic Party. We have done it before and we will do it again", concluded Balliu./ CNA
