Fire continues at the waste field in Kruja/ Area covered in toxic smoke

The fire continues at the Kruja landfill, with smoke covering the area. The flames started on Tuesday evening, and the waste continues to burn deep inside. The toxic smoke has become a concern for residents.

It is not known whether the fire was intentional or accidental. Residents say the smell of smoke has already entered their homes.

The Kruja firefighters, assisted by the Institute's, have been working throughout the night, but the fires continue to be active.

It is not yet known whether the intervention with fadroma to cover it with soil has begun, as it is the only way to completely extinguish it.
