Pink October/ Rama, call to women and girls: Take care of yourself

Prime Minister Edi Rama, within the framework of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, has called on women and girls to take care of themselves by undergoing mammography to detect early signs of this disease.

"GOOD MORNING and with the annual call on every Pink October for all women and girls to take a little time to take care of themselves, by getting free mammograms in the network of polyclinics and regional hospitals in the country, I wish you a good month," Rama writes.  

October is designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month worldwide, to increase attention and support for awareness, early detection, treatment, and palliative care of this disease.

It is organized annually and aims to disseminate information about breast health, as well as raise awareness about the prevention and early detection of breast cancer in women and girls across the globe.

Breast cancer is one of the most common diseases in women worldwide, with about 2.3 million new cases diagnosed each year, according to the World Health Organization.

Recognizing early signs is essential for early detection and successful treatment of this disease./ CNA
