KPA upholds decision to dismiss 2 judges

The Special Appeals Commission today upheld the decisions to dismiss judges Izabela Radovani and Taulant Tafa.

Izabela Radovani served as a judge at the Shkodra Court, while Tafa was a judge at the Elbasan Court.

" The panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Ina Rama as presiding judge, Sokol Çomo as rapporteur, Albana Shtylla, Natasha Mulaj, Rezarta Schuetz as member, announced the decision on case no. 34/2023, dated 20.07.2023, which concerns the appeal of the reassessment subject Izabela Radovani against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, no. 647, dated 14.04.2023.

At the end of the trial in the deliberation room, the panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter “a” of Law No. 84/2016, “On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, unanimously decided:

Leaving in force decision no. 647, dated 14.04.2023 of the Independent Qualification Commission, concerning the re-evaluation subject Izabela Radovani.

This decision is final and has immediate effect.

"It was announced today, in Tirana, on 30.09.2025 ," the KPA announced.

 

The Independent Qualification Commission decided on April 24, 2023, to dismiss Taulant Tafa from his duties.

" The panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Albana Shtylla as presiding judge, Sokol Çomo as rapporteur, Ina Rama, Mimoza Tasi, Rezarta Schuetz as members, announced the decision on case no. 26/2023, dated 29.06.2023, which concerns the appeal of the re-evaluation subject Taulant Tafa against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, no. 649, dated 24.04.2023.

At the end of the trial in the deliberation room, the panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter “a” of Law No. 84/2016, “On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, unanimously decided:

Leaving in force decision no. 649, dated 24.04.2023 of the Independent Qualification Commission, concerning the re-evaluation subject Taulant Tafa.

This decision is final and has immediate effect.

The decision to dismiss Judge Radovani was made on April 14, 2023.
