SPAK shares details/ Here's what was discovered during the corruption

SPAK has shared details from the investigations conducted that led to the sentencing of the former head of Rrugora, Roven Zeka, and 4 other employees.

It is learned that the case of active and passive corruption is related to a road accident that occurred in Tirana, on April 16, 2025, at 07:30 in the capital.

Based on the circumstances of the incident published by SPAK, Zeka and one of the defendants received a sum of money of 200 thousand lek in order to avoid arresting the citizen who was driving the vehicle involved in the accident.

Circumstances of the fact

The investigation revealed that on April 16, 2025, following a road accident that occurred at 07:30 in Tirana, two vehicles were involved, one driven by the citizen, Anisa Vrioni and the other by the citizen Andri Koçi. The persons in the vehicle driven by the latter were taken to the hospital to receive medical assistance.

Citizen Anisa Vrioni was escorted at 10:00 to Police Station No. 3, Tirana, and released at 13:00. After that, she was taken to the hospital to receive medical assistance. The investigative actions in this case were carried out by the defendant Edison Tabaku, who had an early acquaintance with Anisa's husband, the defendant Ergest Vrioni.

The defendant Edison Tabaku, has requested and received directly from the defendant, Ergest Vrioni the sum of money of two hundred thousand lek. In requesting and receiving this amount, the defendant Edison Tabaku acted in collaboration with his two superiors, the defendants Roven Zeka and Sokol Novaku, who have requested and received this amount of money, in order to avoid arresting the citizen Anisa Vrioni. Bledi Belba has intervened with Roven Zeka and has helped Ergest with the sum of 1000 euros, to pass it to the defendants, with the aim of not arresting his wife. /CNA
