Flood situation in Korça region/ Work continues on the Devoll River

The Korça District Prefecture has updated information regarding the rainfall situation.

The updated information states that work continues on the Devoll River embankment as well as to repair the damage on the Mesmal - Velçan - Selcë road axis.

 

 

Notice distributed by the Prefecture

 

Municipality of Maliq:

a) Intensive work continues on the Devoll River embankment. Field teams are reinforcing and stabilizing problematic segments, with the aim of ensuring safety and preventing flooding in the surrounding areas.

Length of works: 2.1 km

Operational Force 60 and Logistics:

18 trucks

3 fadroma

5 large excavators

1 long arm excavator

2 small excavators

In parallel, a secondary segment has been built below the embankment, 400 meters long, which serves for vehicle turnaround and technical access for heavy vehicles.

b) Damaged road axis Mesmal - Velçan - Selcë, work is continuing by local structures.

c) The road in the village of Osojë and Gjinikas is impassable due to the collapse of the bridge.

 

Devoll Municipality:

a) Currently, work is being done on the Çetë bridges and interventions are being made to improve the roads in the villages of Progër, Bitinckë and Vranisht.

b) In the Dobranj - Bracanj segment, asphalt damage was found at about 15 meters.

 

Municipality of Kolonja:

a) Intervention with an excavator on the embankment of the Shtika and Bezhan streams to stabilize problematic segments.

b) In the village of Gostivisht, the landslide is being removed with a shovel.

c) Work continues on the Qinami bridge.

d) In the village of Starje, the sewers are being cleaned by a team of cleaners and field workers.

 

Municipality of Pustec:

Work is underway to clean the Gorica e Madhe stream from inert materials and to improve the Lajthizë-Liqenas road.

 

Municipality of Pogradec:

a) The field team continues work along the Verdova River, the estuary and areas near it, the Rremenji River and along the housing estates.

b) In Verdova, about 65 ml of retaining wall was damaged, 45 ml in Unazë and 60 ml in Zërvaske.

 

Korca Municipality:

The structures on the ground continue to work to completely neutralize the problems identified these days.

 

A.RR.SH:

a) On the Maliq-Lozhan i Ri-Strelcë road segment, erosion has been observed under the road shoulder, which has also led to the collapse of the side metal protective barriers and risks erosion of the asphalt section.

b) In the K. Boboshticë - Dardhë segment, road junction at km 7.

Measures have been taken by the A.RR.SH for both issues and the intervention will begin on the spot./CNA
