Former Socialist Mayor and 5 Other People Reported to SPAK

The Chairperson of the Appeals Committee in the Democratic Party, Adriana Kalaja, has reported to SPAK former mayor Tërmet Peçi, Lorenc Bami, head of the Directorate of Planning and Control of Territorial Development in the Municipality of Tepelena, Alesanda Bami, wife of Lorenc Bami, partner of the company NG Structures shpk, Hekuran Hoxha, former partner of the company NG Structures, Fajton Hoxha, partner of the company NG Structures shpk, Julian Çela, economist of the company Iumentis shpk and cousin of Lorenc Bami.

Kalaja has reported these 6 persons to SPAK for committing the criminal offenses of: "Exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions", provided for by Article 245/1 of the Criminal Code, "Abuse of office", provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code, "Committing arbitrary actions", provided for by Article 250 of the Criminal Code, "Illegal benefit of interests", provided for by Article 257 of the Criminal Code, "Violation of equality in tenders", provided for by Article 258 of the Criminal Code, "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" provided for by Article 259 of the Criminal Code, "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", provided for by Article 260 of the Criminal Code, "Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense", provided for by Article 287 of the Criminal Code, "Criminal organization" provided for by Article 333 of the of the Criminal Code, "Structured criminal group" provided for by Article 333/a of the Criminal Code, "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group", provided for by Article 334 of the Criminal Code, all committed under "Aggravating Circumstances", provided for by Article 50 of the Criminal Code and in collaboration provided for by Article 25 of the Criminal Code.

She also requested the initiation of a property investigation for the defendants in reference to Law No. 10192, dated 3.12.2009 "On the prevention and suppression of organized crime, trafficking, and corruption through preventive measures against property".

It has also filed a request with the Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, pursuant to Article 242 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, for the preventive measure of suspension from duty of the citizens reported above.
