A 48-year-old man has been arrested in Tirana after being accused of distributing cocaine divided into doses in the Vora area. A 41-year-old man has also been arrested for failing to report a crime.

Their arrest took place at the place called "Marqinet Underpass", the police searched the vehicle with the 48-year-old driver, Sh. D., and the 41-year-old passenger, RK.

During the search of the vehicle and then the 48-year-old's apartment, a quantity of narcotics, suspected to be cocaine, and 2 electronic scales were found, which were seized as material evidence.

Police announcement:

Tirana/1 case of distribution of hard drugs in small quantities is investigated.

A quantity of narcotics, suspected cocaine, 2 electronic scales and 1 vehicle were seized. The 48-year-old man who owned them was arrested.

A 41-year-old man is also in custody for failing to report a crime.

The services of Police Commissariat No. 7, in cooperation with specialists from the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Tirana Police Department, in continuation of the work to crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics, and supported by information that a citizen was distributing narcotics in the Vora area, continued the checks with a focus on his identification, capture and arrest.

As a result, 1 case of this criminal activity was detected and the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

– Sh. D., 48 years old, resident of Kamëz, for the criminal offense of “Production and sale of narcotics”;

– RK, 41 years old, resident of Domje, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".

At the place called "Marqinet Underpass", the Police services stopped the vehicle with the driver, citizen Sh. D., and the passenger, citizen RK. During the search of the vehicle and then of the 48-year-old's apartment, a quantity of narcotics, suspected to be cocaine, and 2 electronic scales were found.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that Sh. D., after obtaining the cocaine-type narcotic substance, divided it into doses and sold it in small quantities in the Vora area.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for further action. / CNA
