After days of requests to clarify the conflict of interest that SPAK judge Irena Gjoka has in the trial against the chief democrat Sali Berisha, the latter has published the letter that the Ministry of Justice has sent to his lawyers in which it is clarified that Irena Maneku (Gjoka) was dismissed in 1996. In a conversation with citizens, Berisha said that through the letter her dismissal from office was confirmed.

"Today I am in front of you as you have heard me that for days I have asked the judge Irena Gjoka to make public whether or not she was punished by Berisha in 1996? This document that I have here that I kept just to show you, is the answer that the Ministry of Justice gives to the lawyers and admits that judge Irena Maneku has disciplinary measures, but we don't know if this is Gjoka or someone else? So ridiculous. Yes, this is the judge, that when the file went, she was obliged to declare that there is no violation of interest, no conflict of interest. Other documents will verify that Maneku is Gjoka and Gjoka is Maneku. She hides from the Minister of Justice that she is the same person and that she was fired by Berisha in 1996," said Berisha.

Earlier, Berisha requested that the judge herself prove his claims, but officially there has not yet been a reaction from Irena Gjoka.

Judge Irena Gjoka in 2020, during the vetting process, declared her wealth but did not declare before the judges her dismissal from office in 1996, by the then president Sali Berisha.

It is this fact that clearly shows that the judge has lied to the justice bodies and, on the other hand, the justice bodies have not properly investigated the purity of her figure.

The opposition, after the arrest of Jamarbër Malltez for passive corruption and the accusations against former prime minister Sali Berisha, has twice requested the dismissal of judge Irena Gjoka from the case due to a conflict of interest, but in both cases the request was rejected and Gjoka continues to judge this issue./ CNA
