The opposition has organized its next speech in front of the Prime Minister's Office today. Democratic MP Eno Bozdo, during his speech, also spoke about the increase in oil prices.
Bozdo said that the governments of European countries, due to this global situation, have approved aid packages for people, while the Albanian government is doing nothing.
He said that the price of oil is so high only because our country has the highest fiscal burden in Europe.
"Today I want to talk about a topic that affects us all. It affects us, it affects our families, it affects the economy of this country. Today I want to talk about what we all feel every day, we suffer from it on our backs. High prices, high oil prices, high food prices, especially in the last two weeks, caused by the crisis. In the last week, every morning, every afternoon, every evening, we have seen and heard the news about how the governments of the countries of the region, how the governments of the European countries approved aid packages for their people, for their economies, for their families. How all the countries of the region have sat down seriously, considering every opportunity they have, every instrument they have to make life as easy as possible for their citizens, for the families of their country, for the local economy. But what happens during the two weeks or 10 days in Tirana? Nothing.
A big mockery, no government meeting, no concrete measures. Only jokes from the prime minister, just show, he meets with businesses and says you bear the cost. Then he pretends to approve a board. Then he says something else and from there he is thrown into another place. No concrete measures. And while oil today has reached 2200 old lek per liter, and while basic food is increasing day by day, we know nothing, we have nothing. We are the most humiliated citizens. We are the most trampled on. We are the most disregarded. All this because the government we have does not even care, neither for us, nor for each other, but only for itself. The price of oil is not high because someone simply abuses it. The government has all the possibilities for this. It can take it, do inspections, control it. The price of oil and this must be told to Albanians, is that we have the largest fiscal burden in Europe and perhaps in the world for it. "60-65% of the oil price goes back to the government in taxes," said Bozdo. /CNA
