Political scientist Ermal Hasimja commented this evening on Prime Minister Edi Rama's reaction, following the meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, regarding the "Balluku" issue.
Invited to "Now with Erla Mëhillin" on Euronews Albania, Hasimja said that this was a continuation of the strategy to link the issue of suspension with that of lifting immunity.
"What is clearly visible here is the continuation of the desire, will or strategy to link the issue of suspension with that of lifting immunity. These are two things that are unrelated to each other. You cannot justify stopping one, no matter what status the first request may have with the issue of suspension. SPAK has apparently discovered other facts that determine that a harsher measure is needed. The real problem is not what happens with the suspension, it is why Rama links this issue with that of lifting immunity," said Hasimja. /CNA
