Constitutional Court's decision on Balluk/Journalism: Neither meat nor

The latest Constitutional Court decision, related to the Belinda Balluku case, has prompted strong reactions from both the majority and other political analysts and exponents.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has signaled legal changes to avoid the suspension of officials appointed by the President of the Republic in the future.

According to Rama, the intervention in the Criminal Code aims to clarify competencies and avoid similar situations.

The Constitutional Court's decision was harshly criticized by journalist Martin Leka, who on the show "Tirana Live" described its position as unclear and without legal value. He emphasized that the tie of votes does not produce justice and undermines the role of the highest constitutional institution in the country.

According to Leka, a court that fails to make final decisions damages citizens' trust in the state and democracy, turning justice into a blocked and authoritative process.

"The problem of the Constitutional Court is neither meat nor fish. In this stance, in the relation of a 4 to 4 decision, which is not a decision, the Constitutional Court has shown the complete lack of dignity that a Constitutional Court could have.

The Constitutional Court is the last court where justice is supposed to be served. It has been incapable of delivering justice.

"A court that is incapable of delivering justice is a failed court. This harms the court, democracy, the government, the opposition, but also all Albanian citizens," he said./ CNA
