They were walking around armed/Two people were arrested in Fier

Two people have been arrested in Fier for driving armed. Police stopped the vehicle in which the two people were driving yesterday afternoon for a search.

At the moment of the stop, they attempted to flee but were immediately apprehended by the Police. During the search, a firearm with live ammunition was found in the driver's bag, which was seized along with the vehicle and two cell phones.

"They were walking around armed and did not obey the police order to stop, 2 citizens were arrested. A pistol with combat ammunition, the vehicle and 2 cell phones were seized."

Following information received by the police that armed citizens were traveling in an "Audi" type vehicle, the services of the General Patrol of the Fier Police Commissariat, with the support of the "Eagle" Special Force, yesterday afternoon, in the "Apollonia" neighborhood, stopped for inspection the "Audi" type vehicle in which 2 citizens were traveling. At the moment of the Police intervention, the driver of the vehicle and the passenger attempted to leave but were immediately caught by the Police services.

During the search, a pistol firearm with combat ammunition was found in the driver's backpack.

The firearm was seized as evidence, along with the vehicle and 2 mobile phones.

Following the actions in the case, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the Fier Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen GN alias GS, 40 years old, resident of the village of Sulaj, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer" and the citizen AP, 31 years old, resident of the village of Portëz, for the criminal offenses "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth" and "Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer".

"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, for further action," the Fier police statement said./CNA
