Prime Minister Edi Rama has commented on the opposition protests, describing them as an outpouring on the boulevard that aims to produce negative images for Albania in the international arena.
According to Rama, through fires and violence in protests, photographs are created that are then distributed abroad to present a distorted reality of the situation in Albania.
"The outpouring on the boulevard is done for the photographs that are produced by the fires and the violence, taking them around the world to say this is Albania, don't go to Albania, don't trust Albania, don't do tourism in Albania, corruption and blah blah. Corruption in Albania is being fought more than ever before. Today as we speak and the cases that are being treated are 85% that belong to the first and second mandate and in all these cases 10 are on charges of corruption, contrary to what is shown", said Rama./ CNA
