EU4LEA Project/ Gonzato meeting with Braho: Our common vision, to eradicate

Today, the steering committee meeting of the EU4LawEnforcement project was held in Tirana.

In an announcement made on social media by the EU mission in Albania, it is reported that representatives of the European Union and international partners as well as representatives of Albanian institutions, including the head of SPAK, Klodjan Braho, were part of the meeting.

In his speech at the meeting, EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato stated that the functioning of this project is essential for successful financial investigations.

Gonzato stated that EU4LawEnforcement is a cornerstone in the shared vision to eradicate organized crime.

The fight against organized crime and corruption, strengthening financial investigations and asset recovery, as well as increasing operational cooperation between law enforcement institutions, were at the center of discussions during the steering committee of the EU4LawEnforcement project, held today in Tirana.

The meeting brought together representatives of relevant Albanian institutions, the European Union and international partners to review the progress of the project and discuss the future action plan.

“The EU4LEA project has a broad mandate to strengthen Albania's capacities in the fight against organized crime. With its support, we expect Albania to finalize the National Strategy against Organized Crime and the operationalization of the Asset Recovery Office. The functioning of this office is essential for successful financial investigations. It is a cornerstone of our shared vision to eradicate organized crime by targeting the economic and financial interests of criminal networks,” said EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato.
