The Embassy of Great Britain in Tirana has reacted to Euronews Albania regarding the decision of its government, which announced actions against some Albanian individuals related to crime and corruption.
For the journalist Ardit Hoxha, the embassy stated that the legislation does not allow to give more details about this decision and emphasized that this is the first wave of measures in Albania, but also in the Balkans.
"In this case, the legislation does not allow to give more details about individuals when immigration bans are taken. Britain does not intend to take action against an institution, group or party. They are different individuals. And this is the first "wave" of the masses in Albania and more widely in the Balkans", says the reaction.
Great Britain has put "under target" some Albanian citizens, according to it, they are involved in crime and corruption.
The news was published on the website of the British government. In the letter of the Special Envoy of the British Prime Minister in the Western Balkans, Stuart Peach, it is underlined that this is "the first wave of a series of actions to encourage accountability and end impunity".
