Citizens clash with journalist/ Two people are escorted

A conflict between several citizens and a journalist was recorded on Saturday evening near "Skënderbej" Square in Tirana.

According to the Police, the incident occurred around 10:00 PM, and after being notified of the conflict, the services of Police Station No. 3 immediately intervened at the scene, preventing the situation from escalating and escorting the people involved to the police station.

Journalist OS reported that he was cursed at, insulted and scratched by citizens ZN and MP, suffering minor injuries.

Meanwhile, according to statements by ZN and MP, the conflict began after a verbal argument with the journalist, who had held them accountable for their absence from the protest held in the capital.

"On 21.06.2026, at around 22:00, near "Skënderbej" Square, the Police were notified of a conflict between several citizens.

The services of Police Station No. 3 immediately intervened at the scene, preventing the escalation of the conflict and escorting the people involved to the police station.

Specifically, citizen OS, a journalist, who reported that he was cursed at, insulted and scratched by citizens ZN and MP, suffering minor injuries.

On the other hand, citizens ZN and MP stated that the conflict began after a verbal argument with citizen OS, after the latter demanded an account regarding their absence from the rally held in the city.

"Procedural and investigative actions are being carried out in relation to this case, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office," the police statement said./ CNA
