The Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Niko Peleshi, is paying an official visit to Germany as part of parliamentary diplomacy. Speaker Peleshi was received today by the President of the Bundestag, Julia Klöckner. The visit focused on deepening parliamentary cooperation and strengthening relations between Albania and Germany and supporting Albania's EU membership.

During the meeting, the excellent bilateral relations, which are characterized by an intensified political dialogue and Germany's continued support for Albania's European integration process, were appreciated. President Peleshi expressed gratitude for Germany's key role in supporting reforms, especially in the areas of justice, democracy and electoral legislation.
During the meeting, Germany's support was underlined as a decisive factor for Albania's progress towards membership in the European Union. The need for a merit-based enlargement process and for the continuation of deep reforms in the country was emphasized.

The importance of continuing these exchanges for advancing Albania's European agenda and strengthening the institutional capacities of the Parliament was emphasized.
Germany was considered one of Albania's main economic partners, with significant growth in investment and trade exchanges in recent years. Mayor Peleshi expressed readiness to further improve the business climate and attract more German investments in key sectors such as energy, industry, technology and tourism.
