Fredi Belerin, the elected head of the Municipality of Himara, has started a trial in the Special Court on charges of election corruption.

It is learned that Anila Pace, a 25-year specialist in the Directorate of Prisons, has been called to testify on the testimony of Beler's penalty administered by SPAK.  

For this testimony, the defense claims that there are incorrect data on whether or not Beleri was convicted.

Beleri, the elected mayor of Himara, is accused of buying votes in the elections of May 14 last year. In the Special Court, he also appealed the decision on the "prison arrest" measure, but this was also rejected by the judging panel. 

The "Beleri" case has also brought the reaction of the official Athens, which calls for release. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that this is a matter that belongs to justice. /CNA
