The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, gave an interview from prison where he also commented on the recent appointments and dismissals in the government.

In an interview with Syri.net, Meta described the moves as "desperate and hopeless." He said that the prime minister has one move left to make, which according to him is to resign.

"Desperate and hopeless moves. The Rama government no longer has any political or moral basis. Every promise made 13 years ago is today a proven deception and an irreversible disappointment. Even the installation of fear and violence as the only means to silence the opposition and subjugate citizens no longer helps. Rama has only one move left to show that he has not made an irrevocable mistake, to resign and surrender to his justice in the end ," said Meta.

Asked about the immunity of MP Belinda Balluku, the PL leader said that Rama is obstructing justice.

"There is no Balluku issue, only a Rama issue. The fact that Rama has rejected his resignation three times shows that he is the problem and the obstructionist of justice. The fact that Mirlinda's public lawyer has also been appointed shows that the ANA affair is Rama's and no one else's," he said.

The former president also spoke about the legal changes proposed by the head of government.

"They would not only skip the issue of immunity in 2012, 4 years before the Reform, which brought the recommendation to open negotiations, but they would also shame those few international supporters who, for their own benefit, have turned a blind eye to the violation of the rule of law, elections, parliamentarism, accountability and democracy in Albania.
