Veliaj case/ Judiciary panel to be determined by lot

A jury has been appointed to try Erion Veliaj and the other defendants.

The troupe was selected by lot and consists of ?engjëllushe Tahiri, Alma Kodraliu and Rudina Palloj.

On February 9, the GJKKO passed the case of Veliaj and 29 other people for trial. Veliaj has been in Durrës prison for a year after SPAK tried 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses.

Veliaj has been left in prison by all levels of courts, after allegedly tampering with evidence.

The mayor is in prison after being caught in corruption, abuse of office, laundering criminal proceeds, concealing assets, and bringing prohibited items into the cell.

For a year since his arrest, Veliaj has been pursuing a campaign of attacks on prosecutors and the judiciary with manipulations and lies that are then sent to the Department of Justice in the form of reports.
