Journalist Klodiana Lala has shared details today from two well-known files in development, the file on the arrested mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj and the file on former president Ilir Meta.

In a television studio, Lala revealed that the file for Veliaj is being closed, while the file for Meta depends on the preliminary hearing.

Lala added that these are two very sensitive files that are going through certain legal processes.

"Regarding the "Meta" case, the file for trial has been sent to the court for Ilir Meta, his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi, his ex-mother-in-law Fatime Kryemadhi and other associates. The judge has been appointed, who is Irena Gjoka, who was accused by Berisha of hiding a conviction in Greece. The preliminary judge will decide whether to return the file for investigation or send it for trial. Meta is trying to get out of detention. On the other hand, SPAK has filed a series of charges, including for money laundering. The court said that Ilir Meta may intimidate witnesses.

As for Mr. Veliaj, the file is being "stitched up". Veliaj is heading towards the 'path' that Ilir Meta legally took. These are very sensitive files. Veliaj had health concerns, as he was sent to the hospital and returned after undergoing tests. For anyone, being in detention is like having the roof fall off, imagine two people who were very powerful.
