The assassination of Fadil Mema/ the Supreme Court takes Florenc Çapë to a retrial

The Supreme Court has overturned the decision of the Durrës Appeal that closed the case against Florenc Çapja, regarding the planned assassination of the former Rugore influencer, Fadil Mema. 

Thus, another trial will be opened for Florenc Çapë in Albanian justice.

The Supreme Court decided to return the case to the court of Elbasan in a preliminary session.

"The annulment of decision no. 3096 (13-2019-6955), dated 20.11.2019, of the Judicial District Court, Elbasan and decision no. 10-2020-480 (76), dated 14.04.2020, of the Court of Appeal, Durrës, and sending the case for retrial to the Judicial District Court, Elbasan - the judge of the preliminary session, before this court", the decision states. 

Çapja is wanted internationally by the Albanian authorities, as SPAK demands his sentence to 25 years in prison for the murder of father and son, Nezir and Gentian Beqiri in 2012.
