Trial on the merits/ Monika Kryemadhi arrives at the GJKKO

Former MP Monika Kryemadhi has appeared before the Special Court for the first session of the trial on the merits of the "Meta" case.

The lawyer of the leader of the PL, Ilir Meta, Kujtim Cakrani, also appeared at the GJKKO.

The "Meta" file includes investigations related to the "CEZ-DIA" case, LSI lobbying in the United States, and the defendants' assets. Of the five defendants, only Ilir Meta has been in prison since October 2024. All of his requests for a change in security measures have been rejected.

In August of last year, SPAK sent Meta and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, to trial, facing charges of corruption, money laundering, and concealment of assets.

Fatime Kryemadhi, the mother of Monika Kryemadhi and Ema Çoku, has also been brought to trial on suspicion of money laundering. Meanwhile, Pirro Xhixho faces charges of passive corruption of high-ranking officials committed in collaboration.
