Seizure of cryptocurrencies/ Braho: Difficulty, their management

The head of SPAK was asked by members of the KLP during his report regarding the seizure of cryptocurrencies. Braho stated that the legal basis for their seizure is the same as for any asset, while adding that the difficulty lies in their management.

He said that through cooperation with other institutions, their management and storage has also been achieved. Braho added that he hopes that the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets will have a portfolio for storing cryptocurrencies in the future.

"The value of the seized cryptocurrencies is 12.4 million. The legal basis for their seizure is the same as for any asset. We have difficulties in administering them. We have cooperated with other authorities and they have helped us in receiving, seizing and managing the cryptocurrencies for their storage. We hope that this situation will be regulated and the seized assets agency will have a portfolio for their storage," said Braho. /CNA
