VIDEO-First trial session on the merits for Meta/PL MPs before the court

The trial on the merits of the case against the leader of the Liberal Party, Ilir Meta, his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi and three other defendants has begun.

Freedom Party MPs have gone to court to follow the trial against Meta.

Meta's file includes investigations related to the "CEZ-DIA" case, LSI lobbying in the United States, and the defendants' assets. Of the five defendants, only Ilir Meta has been in prison since October 2024. All of his requests for a change in security measures have been rejected.

In August of last year, SPAK sent Meta and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, to trial, facing charges of corruption, money laundering, and concealment of assets.

Fatime Kryemadhi, the mother of Monika Kryemadhi and Ema Çoku, has also been brought to trial on suspicion of money laundering. Meanwhile, Pirro Xhixho faces charges of passive corruption of high-ranking officials committed in collaboration./ CNA
