Four photovoltaic plants with a capacity of 2 MW each have requested licensing from the Energy Regulatory Authority as far as electricity production is concerned.

At the last meeting, the Entity decided to start the procedures for each of the plants located all in the area of ??Fier, where in fact a good part of the investments in solar energy is concentrated.

Specifically, the ERE Board decided:

- to start the procedure for the licensing of the company "REBESOL" sh.pk, in the activity of electricity production, from the photovoltaic plant with installed capacity of 2 MW, in Grykë Village, Topoje Administrative Unit, Fier Municipality, Fier District.

- to start the procedure for the licensing of the company "PARISOL" sh.pk, in the activity of electricity production, from the photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 2 MW, in the village of Grykë, Administrative Unit of Topojë, Municipality of Fier, District of Fier.

- to start the procedure for licensing the company "SAMASOL" sh.pk in the activity of electricity production from the photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 2 MW, in the village of Grykë, Administrative Unit Topojë, Municipality of Fier, District of Fier.

- to start the procedure for licensing the company "ZENINA" sh.pk in the activity of electricity production from the photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 2 MW, in the village of Grykë, Topojë Administrative Unit, Fier Municipality, Fier District.

Photovoltaic plants with an installed capacity of up to 2 MW were promoted by the government years ago as a form of investment where subjects were offered to purchase energy according to a fee calculated annually by the Entity. Currently, the price for the energy produced by these plants is 95.04 euros according to the decision of February 22 of this year.

The trend of investments in photovoltaics has continued to remain constant since the increase it suffered as a result of the energy crisis.

However, the production from this segment continues to remain modest in relation to the total energy produced in the country and based on hydro sources. In 2023, plants with a capacity of 18MW went into production, while in total the photovoltaic energy from these plants accounted for 0.4% of the total domestic electricity production./ Monitor.al
