"The matter belongs to justice"/ Rama: Saddened by the barbaric

Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the presentation of Igli Tafa as director of AKSHI, following the resignation of Mirlinda Karçanaj.

Rama expressed that he feels saddened by the entire attack that was made against the former director of AKSHI, with whom he says he has worked for two decades.

But Rama emphasizes that the matter belongs to justice and hopes that Karçanaj will be cleared of the investigation.

"I decided to come myself to introduce the new director. First of all, I wanted to come myself because I wanted to thank Mirlinda Karçanaj. She has worked with me for two decades or more since we were in the Municipality of Tirana. We have been dedicated to public service. Mirlinda has been the first to come to work and the last to leave. I feel sad for everything she is going through, the barbaric aggression of portals and networks and violence. I have no knowledge about the activity of the companies involved in the investigation. I know that Linda is a single mother with two children who has a career in public service.

AKSHI has high-level partners, such as technology giants like Microsoft, I have heard the most enthusiastic words and the most extraordinary impressions about Mirlinda Karçanjan. Even though she is currently in an ordeal where I want to believe she will come out clean, this is part of justice, it does not mean rejecting her values.

I feel sorry for those who have been pressured, mistreated, abused, and faced with unjustifiable coercive methods in a democratic republic.

"I want to tell you that we live in a phase where another revolution is taking place to transform Albania," Rama said./ CNA
