The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, gave the news a little while ago that subscriptions for students will be free.

He made this statement during the meeting of the Municipal Council of Tirana, where he said that the compensation of the general subscription ticket for students will apply to all urban lines for the period October 2022 - June 2023.

Veliaj emphasized that in order to get the subscription for free, students must show up at the points where these subscriptions are issued with the student card.

"For all students who have a student card, it is enough to present the student card at the points where we give free tickets. We want them to physically receive the subscription with the student card, so that the transport companies don't hit them with the ball because it's not our money, so we have to give it transparently, to make sure that every student who uses the subscription is subsidized , leading to the payment to the company and not the student.

We will request that students get the student card, which is given free of charge, in all our faculties, then with the student card they get the subscription. We count all the subscriptions given and at the end of each month, the municipality will make the refunds to the companies, so that the students have free transportation", emphasized the mayor of Tirana./ BA - CNA.al
