The General Directorate of Archives (DPA) has introduced the newest research platform "Audio and Video Library online", bringing to the personal computer of researchers audio and film materials on political developments in Albania after 1945.

Included are 8,071 tapes and 318 videotapes, belonging to the personal fund of the dictator Enver Hoxha and speeches given by representatives of the communist nomenclature in meetings, plenums, meetings of the Central Committee, committees and organizations of the Party of Labor of Albania. part of the audiovisual archive, which is undergoing the digitization process, to become accessible anywhere and anytime at videoteka.arkiva.gov.al.

Also present during the presentation of this platform was the general director of the Archives, Ardit Bido, the director of the Central State Film Archive (AQSHF), Marinela Ndria.

Ardit Bido informed that the use of these materials for didactic purposes will be free, offering the new generation an opportunity to learn about the history of Albania during the communist regime.

While Marinela Ndria described the platform as quite useful for the long-term storage of archival material.

With around 19 million digitized documents in the 5-year period 2019-2024, the DPA represents the most digitized central archive in Europe.
