"Meta" file/ GJKKO rejects request for live broadcast of session

The Special Court is reviewing the case against the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, and former MP, Monika Kryemadhi.

Lawyer Kujtim Cakrani stated in the courtroom that he would like the presence of cameras, describing this as a public request.

"Last week I made a request for the glass cage. I also addressed it to embassies in Albania and other institutions. You did not accept it and you did well, because the GJKKO has a practice that it uses only when it is in its interest. This is the court's problem," he said.

On the other hand, the leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has requested that his request be reviewed once again.

"Honorable members of the jury, I request that the issue of live broadcast be reviewed. I have no doubt that the cases you mention are as you say, but we have also presented our legal bases. I see no reason why this process should not be broadcast live. The public must be informed," said Meta.

Judge Erjon Bani has decided to reject Meta's request for a live broadcast of the hearing.
