The last rally failed / Korça remains without protests this weekend

Korça did not hold any civic protests against the government this weekend, while the reasons for not organizing the rallies still remain unclear.

According to information, some of the protesters from Korça organized the day before to join the protest in Tirana.

However, the lack of a protest in Korça comes after the failure of the rally held two days ago, which failed to secure the expected turnout. The last protest in Korça, held on Friday, was not massive, with around 40 people present on the ground. This situation is thought to have influenced the lack of organizing another rally over the weekend.

Meanwhile, organizers or supporters of the protests have justified the lack of a rally in Korça with participation in the protest held in Tirana, where some of the protesters from the southeastern city moved to join the large protest in the capital. 

The protest announced for Sunday was canceled due to a lack of citizen participation. It is learned that the low number of people present led the organizers to decide to cancel the rally.

Unlike Korça, a protest was held in Pogradec on Saturday. The rally in this city is reported to have been massive, with a significant participation of citizens. There is still no information whether Pogradec will continue with other protests in the coming days.

It is learned that in Korça, the next protest is planned to take place on Monday afternoon. /CNA
