MP Ina Zhupa from Cape Rodoni has denounced that socialist MPs want to destroy protected areas through changes in the law on Protected Areas.
According to her, these changes in the law pave the way for construction and economic activities in these areas.
The deputy states that the changes in the law remove the barriers to build in these areas.
"Today I am in the area of ??Cape Rodon, it is a protected area that has so far escaped the environmental massacre precisely because of the protection that comes from the "Law of Protected Areas".
Socialist MPs want to destroy this very thing, they want to change the law "On Protected Areas" opening the way for construction and economic activities in these areas.
A few days ago I denounced the Butrint National Park and I will also denounce other areas to make all citizens understand who are the targets they have decided to build the oligarchs and benefit the clients of the power.
The destruction of the protected areas is certain with the draft law brought to the Assembly by 12 socialist deputies because it removes any barrier to build or do various profitable economic activities within these areas.
Cape Rodoni is one of the most important touristic, environmental, cultural and historical points of Albania and is at great risk if that law passes.
Socialist MPs have not consulted with any interest group, with civil society, they have not even consulted with citizens since this is a law that directly affects the interests of citizens because it is about protected areas in all of Albania.
Also, this draft law of the socialist deputies goes against the standards of the European Union, while we are a country that aspires to join the European Union and we have an obligation to align the legislation with that of the European Union.
The mediocre discussions that have taken place in the 'online' commissions have shown us that the socialist deputies have not been able to show a single reason why these changes should be made in the law of protected areas. And the only reason according to them is because these areas have not been used to build in them and to do economic activity, this thing contradicts the interest of Albanian citizens and the interest of Albania.
We will do everything to sensitize the public opinion and to oppose in all legal and judicial forms inside and outside the country this draft law that does a great harm to the protected areas of Albania and to the lungs of Albania", said the deputy./ CNA
