In the Court of Appeal, the court session has started against Arbë Paplekaj, accused and convicted of the murder of Pjerin Xhuvani on April 21, 2021, four days before the parliamentary elections.

Paplekaj claims that he shot in self-defense. Paplekaj is sentenced to 22 years in prison for the crime.

We remind you that Arbër Paplekaj was the bodyguard of the former General Secretary of the DP, Gazment Bardhi, during the 2021 election campaign.

After a clash between two party groups, where weapons were also used, Paplekaj shot at Xhuvan, leaving him a victim.

Pjerin Xhuvani, was killed on April 21, 2021 in Elbasan. At that time, as a result of the shooting, 39-year-old Emiljan Prenga, 50-year-old Pavlo Vuksani, 32-year-old Eltjon Bodinaku, son-in-law of Pjerin Xhuvan, were injured. Police officer Xhensila Sota, 27, was also injured.
