The State of the Environment Report for 2025, published by the National Environment Agency, highlights another problem, that of urban noise.

According to the report, the highest noise level in Albania was estimated at Tirana stations, which is produced by road traffic.

Based on the data monitored at night, the highest exceedance of the norm at night (which is 45 dB) is observed in all cities, except Lezha and Përmet. The highest level was monitored at the stations of Tirana and Vlora.

Monitoring was conducted for a 24-hour measurement period and the equivalent acoustic pressure level LAeq during the day was calculated from 06°°- 23°° and LAeq for the night period from 23°°- 06°°.

The report argues that in our country the main cause of noise emissions is road traffic. This is due to the almost non-existent railway system, as well as the existence of only one international airport. Also, premises generate noise, both day and night. /CNA
