Big scandal! Two footballers from Fenerbahce and Galatasaray arrested

The Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's investigations into the Turkish football betting scandal are expanding rapidly.

Authorities have made a series of new arrests, with prominent Fenerbahce and Galatasaray players among those detained. Fenerbahce midfielder Mert Hakan Yandas and Galatasaray defender Metehan Baltaci were arrested, along with former referee Ahmet Çakar and referee Zorbay Kuçuk.

In total, 46 people are under investigation, with 35 of them arrested, including club directors. The scandal has also involved a large number of referees, with 150 being investigated for possible violations.

In parallel, 102 footballers have been suspended for periods ranging from 45 days to one year. Investigations are ongoing and further measures are expected in the coming days.
