Contract renewal, Silvinjo no longer comes to Albania

The Albanian Football Federation has formalized the contract renewal with the national team coach, Silvinjo, as well as with assistant coaches Pablo Zabaleta and Dorival Guidoni Junior.

The new technical staff contract will be valid until July 2026. The main objective of this renewal remains Albania's historic qualification to the final stage of the World Cup.

Silvinho's previous contract expired on December 31, 2025. With the new agreement, he will lead the National Team in the upcoming World Cup Play-Off matches and in the group stage, in case of qualification.

The renewal is for a six-month period. Due to the match calendar, there is a possibility that the coach will no longer manage any matches at the "Air Albania" stadium and in Albania.

This short renewal is also interpreted as a possible desire of the coach himself to conclude the current project.
