Dignified performance, but Shkëndija loses the first act against Qarabag

Shkëndija e Tetovo suffered a narrow defeat at home to Qarabag, in a match valid for the third qualifying round of the Champions League. The Albanian team was punished in the 18th minute, after a penalty converted into a goal by midfielder Bayramov, who gave the Azerbaijanis the lead. The decisive episode came after a foul inside the area, which was also confirmed by VAR technology.

Despite the early disadvantage, Shkëndija reacted. Initially with several inaccurate attempts, while the second half brought an increase in pace and more danger in the opposing zone.
