From criticism to World Cup star, the striker bought by Bayern amazes everyone

Ismael Saibari has become one of the protagonists of the World Cup and is currently in the running for the Golden Boot.

A few months ago he was at the center of criticism after an incident in the Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal, where he was filmed trying to take the towel from goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

The Moroccan footballer later apologized in person at the Senegal national team hotel, ending the episode. At the World Cup, the 25-year-old has scored in all three group stage matches, against Brazil, Scotland and Haiti.

The goal against Scotland came after just 70 seconds of play, making it the fastest goal of the tournament to that point and the fastest by Morocco in World Cup history. With three goals in three matches, Saibari is the first Moroccan player to score in each of the first three matches of a World Cup.

His good form has also been rewarded at club level, as he secured a €55 million transfer to Bayern Munich with a contract until 2031.
