Switzerland wins and moves to the top, Canada leaves Bosnia behind

Tonight brought the final verdicts in Group B of the 2026 World Cup, with Switzerland taking the lead in the group with 7 points after a crucial 2-1 victory against Canada.

After a quiet first half, the Helvetians exploded in the second half with two quick goals from Ruben Vargas (46') and Manzambi (57').

Canada responded with a goal from Promise David in the 76th minute, but was unable to overturn the score. Despite the loss, the Canadians qualify as second place with 4 points, leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina in third place only on goal difference.

Bosnia did the job by defeating Qatar 3-1 thanks to goals from Alajbegovic (29'), Mahmic (80') and an own goal from Abunada, but their victory proved insufficient for second place.

The Balkans hope to qualify as one of the best third places.
