Isak reacts for the first time: Promises were broken, leaving is the best choice

Alexander Isak has asked to leave Newcastle after a very successful season, where he scored 27 goals and provided 6 assists.

The Swedish striker has not been included in the team's Asian tour and has not played in the first week of the Premier League. He has openly expressed his desire to move to Liverpool, despite Newcastle securing participation in the Champions League.

Isak was named in the PFA Team of the Year last season but was absent from the ceremony, saying in a social media post that he felt cheated by the club's promises.

According to him, the relationship with Newcastle has broken down due to a lack of trust and a breach of previous agreements. Isak stressed that a change is in the interests of both parties.

"I have remained silent for a long time, while others have spoken openly. This silence has allowed some to give their version of events, even though they know that this does not reflect what was said and agreed upon behind closed doors."

"In reality, promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. To pretend that these problems are just a current issue is misleading. When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue. Here I am now and that is why the change is in everyone's interest, not just mine," the player's reaction reads.

The issue remains open, while the transfer market closes in less than two weeks.
