The Football Federation and the Municipality of Kavaja will rebuild the Besa stadium. In a meeting held at the premises of the "House of Football", with the participation of representatives of the Albanian Football Federation, the Municipality of Kavaja, foreign and Albanian architects as well as representatives of "Focus Architecture", the winning project for the construction of the stadium was announced.

The jury, composed of international and Albanian architects, selected one of the project ideas presented by the architectural studio "Focus Architecture" that had won the tender developed by the Albanian Football Federation in collaboration with the Municipality of Kavaja.

The project envisages the construction of a modern category 4 stadium according to UEFA standards, with a capacity of 8,000 seats and suitable for hosting matches of any category.

In a statement to fshf.org, the vice president of the Albanian Football Association, Arben Dervishaj, stated that the reconstruction of the new Besa stadium will be a collaboration between the Albanian Football Association and the Municipality of Kavaja. He emphasized that this stadium will not only have sports functions, but also functions for the city.

"We held a meeting regarding the approval of the project ideas for the construction of the Kavaja city stadium. It is known that the Kavaja city stadium was damaged by the earthquake and as a result was completely destroyed. We have decided that in cooperation with the Municipality of Kavaja, we will rebuild the city stadium, giving the city a category 4 stadium, according to UEFA's definitions. The capacity of this stadium will be 8 thousand spectators and will host matches of any category, with the exception of the finals that require a larger capacity.

Today, the project ideas presented by the studio that was declared the winner of the tender held by the Albanian Football Federation and the Municipality of Kavaja, which presented two ideas for the development of the city's stadium, were discussed. The jury, which was composed of international and Albanian architects, after carefully reviewing the project ideas presented by the company, decided that the first variant presented by the studio was the best variant, leaving the relevant remarks. The whole idea is that we build a stadium that will serve the future.

This project that was approved also corresponds to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Besa club. This is good news for all Besa team sports fans. We hope to advance as soon as possible, so that we can start the works and within 2 years, the city of Kavaja will have a stadium and a new development pole. The stadium that we are building will not only have sports functions, but also functions for the city.
