Albania will host the finals of the European U-21 Championship in 2027, one of the most prestigious events in European football after the European Championship for A teams.

As part of the preparations for the organization of this major competition, the "Air Albania" stadium will undergo a significant infrastructure project, which includes interventions in the field's foundation and the replacement of the current carpet, with the aim of meeting the highest standards required by UEFA for the development of international matches and the finals of the UEFA U-21 EURO 2027.

At the last meeting of the Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Association, the entities that will implement this project were also approved. For the phase related to the intervention in the field foundation, the entity “Everest sh.pk” was selected, which, after the procurement process, resulted in meeting all the required technical and legal criteria, as well as having the necessary experience in the implementation of sports infrastructure projects.

Meanwhile, for the second phase of the project, related to the supply and installation of hybrid grass carpet, the Executive Committee approved the company "Hatko Sports International LLC - FZ", a name with international experience in the construction of sports fields according to UEFA and FIFA standards.
