Coach confirms Xhaka as England captain

Granit Xhaka has returned to the Premier League after leaving Bayer Leverkusen, joining Sunderland, the newly promoted team in the English elite.

The midfielder of Albanian origin has chosen this project despite other interests, with the club paying around 20 million euros for his transfer.

Xhaka made his debut in a friendly against Real Betis, where he was seen wearing the captain's armband. Coach Regis Le Brice confirmed that the 32-year-old is expected to be the team's captain for the new season. He praised the qualities and experience that Xhaka brings to the pitch, stressing his importance to the group.

Xhaka's transfer is seen as a strategic move to help Sunderland consolidate their position in the Premier League. He is expected to play a key role in the team's organisation and stability.
