Heart attack at the airport, former sports director of Vllaznia passes away

Former Vllaznia sports director Engin Firat has died at the age of 55 after a heart attack. The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning at Istanbul airport, where Firat was waiting for a flight to Adana.

According to initial reports, his health condition suddenly deteriorated while he was at the airport, resulting in fatal consequences for the Turkish-German technician.

Engin Firat was known in Albania for his time as Vllaznia's sports director during the 2018-2019 season. After his experience in Shkodër, he continued his career as coach of the Moldova national team and then led the Kenya national team during the years 2021-2024.

Most recently, about a month ago, Firat took over the management of the Lebanese club Nejmeh.
