Disappointed pensioners in Vlora: We don't even have money for a coffee

Pensioners in Vlora have expressed disappointment and despair after the increase in pensions and bonuses promised by the government.

According to promises, those with a pension higher than 20 thousand lek will receive a bonus of 50 thousand lek, while those with a lower pension will benefit 10 thousand lek.

However, many pensioners have faced a harsh reality. Many have flocked to post offices to receive their promised pensions and bonuses, but some have left empty-handed due to lack of funds.

 Others have expressed disappointment at what they describe as an unfulfilled promise by the government.

A pensioner who underwent heart surgery has revealed that he received only 130 thousand lek, but was unable to meet his daily needs.

"They didn't give us the bonus, they lied to us. I don't know how we'll make it. I haven't paid my electricity bill for six months and I can't even go for tests. I urgently needed an ambulance, but they didn't come," he said, adding that he has a lot of difficulty making ends meet every month.
