The wine production and viticulture sector will have a special commission. The commission's goal is to increase the standard of wine production, according to EU standards, in order to increase exports to EU countries.

The decision was made at Thursday's government meeting, upon the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to the report accompanying this decision, the new legal framework aims to determine the rules for the functioning, organization, duration and tasks of the Wine Commission. The decision also specifies the procedure for appointing members of the Wine Commission, which is for a period of 3 years, with the right to reappointment, but not more than once.

"The request to be a member, as an expert from an academic field or from scientific research or independent institutions, is made online on the official website of the ministry, at the official published address," the government decision states.

According to the decision, if the application of the interested candidate is not submitted in accordance with the requirements, the candidate is requested, via e-mail, to correct the existing inaccuracies, within seven days of receiving the notification. When the interested candidate completes the inaccuracies within the specified deadline, the application is considered registered from the day it was sent. When the interested candidate does not complete the inaccuracies within the specified deadline, the application is considered not registered and is returned to the candidate together with the other documents.

The dismissal of a member of the Wine Commission before the end of the mandate is made by order of the minister.

The documentation produced throughout the procedure is subject to the rules in force for archives.

The chairman, secretariat and members of the commission are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of information regarding registration requests, requests for changes to specifications, remarks and objections, in accordance with the legislation in force./CNA
